Regarding Recent Blackboard Issues

Regarding the recent changes with Blackboard, we have been experiencing a high number of calls from students who are getting an error that reads “Contact System Administrator” when logging in to the new virtual classroom web pages.

We are continuing to develop a permanent solution for these problems. In the interim, we have developed a list of fixes that may reduce these occurrences. Please read below to ensure your computer has the minimum software requirements.

• Update JAVA at www.java.com to version 6
• Update Internet Explorer to version 7
• Ensure you do not have Microsoft Outlook running while attempting to log in
• Keep running programs to a minimum before attempting to log in
• In Internet Explorer 7, please ensure your browser settings are resetted.
Click on Tools (Top Toolbar) --> Internet Options --> Advanced Tab --> Then on the reset button.

The fixes listed above have already helped a lot of students log in to class; however, these are not permanent fixes. We will continue to investigate the situation and keep our families as updated as possible.
