Buckeye Online School Junior and Senior High School
Buckeye Online’s Junior/Senior High School is a tuition-free school for Ohio residents that offers instruction for grades 6-12. Although we are an online public school, our students are instructed by a live teacher on a traditional bell schedule. Buckeye Online is modeled after a traditional school, except our students learn online in the comfort of their own homes.
Our Online Platform
Buckeye Online School is excited to continue to expand its Canvas LMS platform. Though Canvas is the foundation of the school’s technology, Buckeye Online provides students and teachers with innovative educational resources that increase student engagement and improve the learning experience. The Junior/Senior High School will continue utilizing Edulastic, Nearpod, Vocabulary.com, and Kami. These learning platforms are evaluated yearly to ensure we are providing our students with the best resources possible.
Two critical components for student success are communication and engagement. Buckeye Online teachers and administrators utilize ParentSquare as the primary tool to communicate with parents.
Other expectations of our students include the use of their web cameras during class. The cameras help to keep students engaged and keep them accountable for their learning.
An Engaging Online Experience
Though the students are doing their learning online, they are not going through the process alone. All students are assigned a homeroom teacher to guide them through any onboarding processes, deliver school announcements, as well as provide grade and progress reports.
All our teachers at Buckeye Online are fully vested in the Ohio Improvement Process and meet as Teacher Based Teams (TBTs) weekly to find the best ways to support students and improve performance. Our teachers are always adopting new techniques to provide students with the support they need for academic growth.

Going Above & Beyond at Buckeye Online
Buckeye Online is proud to offer qualifying students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to participate in College Credit Plus (CCP). We partner with colleges and universities across the state of Ohio to provide students with this dual enrollment opportunity. Buckeye Online continues to grow its CCP program each year.
